Ylioppinut oon ♪

Näin minä ja parikymmentä muuta kutosluokkalaista lauloi, kuusi vuotta sitten kevätjuhlassa. Vanha koulu jäi taakse ja matka kohti suurempaa, keskustassa sijaitsevaa yläastetta jatkoi. Oppivelvollisuuden vuoksi koulu jatkui heti 2,5 kuukauden kuluttua.

I'm not going to fully translate these lyrics I used, since I'm so bad at that. Basically it's something like school is over and finally the real life begins and there's no rush and hurry anymore.

I and around 20 other pupils sang those lyrics about six years ago, when we got of from sixth grade. We left our old school behind and continued to junior high school, which was a lot bigger and was located in city center. Even the lyrics said "school is over", it still continued after 2,5 months.

NYT asia on kuitenkin aivan erilainen. 31.5 oli jälleen kevätjuhla, mutta tällä kertaa vuorossa oli lakkiasjuhlat. Sain nimittäin hyväksytysti suoritettua kolmevuotisen lukiotaipaleeni Tampereen yliopiston normaalikoulussa. Ensimmäistä kertaa koulutaipaleen aikana, mulla ei ollut harmainta aavistustakaan siitä, mitä tapahtuu kevätjuhlan jälkeen!

NOW the situation is whole different. May 31 was the date of our ceremony (just like in 2008), but this time it really was a graduation ceremony. That means, I successfully graduated from my high school and it took me three years. This was the first time, after my school started at age 7, that I didn't have any idea, what's going to happen after the ceremony!

Pari päivää ennen "THE DAY" :tä oli tosi kiireisiä. Meitä oli tulossa juhliin parisenkymmentä, mut leipomista ja siivoamista riitti. Varsinkin kakkuja oli jos jonkinmoista. Jännitystä tuotti myös meikäläiselle se, kuinka hyvin tuun mahtumaan mun mekkooni. Otin nimittäin malleista tiukemman, joka kaupassa meni pari kuukautta sitten hyvin päälle. 

Mites sitten, kun se mekko oikeasti pitäis laittaa päälle?

Few days before "THE DAY" were super busy. We had invited around 20-30 people, yet we had lots of baking and cleaning up. We especially had quite a few different kind of cakes. I was also a bit nervous, if I still were able to fit my dress. When I went to choose and try few dresses, couple of months earlier, I had chosen the smaller one of that dress. That's because it fit me well back then. 

But now it was couple of months later and we had to get it on by ourselves?

Mummi ja ukki tulivat piipahtamaan perjantaina. Seuraavana päivänä he tulivat heti aamusta, sillä he halusivat tulla todistamaan lakituksen paikanpäälle. Aamulla mut herätettiin siis jo 7 aikaan, vaikka lakitus itsessään alkoi 10 aikoihin ja paikalla piti olla viim. 9:45. Ainakin oli aikaa valmistautua. 

My grandparents came to greet us on Friday. The next morning, they came again to our place 'cause they wanted to see my graduation. So I was waken up around 7am, even tho the ceremony started 10am and I had to be at the ceremony place 9:45. At least I got some time to get ready.

<random> I had made some curls to my hair earlier, but because of the moist weather, my hair started to straighten up when we got to the ceremony place. (= Tampere's university) You might guess, how I was getting annoyed by that fact. Luckily I had crimped my hair, so they weren't just straight. <random>

Kun sit päästiin paikalle, sydän alko hakkaamaan kuin juoksulenkin jäljiltä. Mentiin seisomaan meidän paikoille jonoon ja mielessä pyöri vaan "ihan rauhallisesti vaan - kaikki menee hyvin, kunhan et kaadu portaissa."

Lakitus ja kaikki meni odotettua paremmin. Pysyin pystyssä normaalia korkeampien korkokenkien kanssa, laitoin lakin päähän vasta silloin, kuin pitikin jne. Ohjelma oli mieluisaa katseltavaa. Eniten mieleen jäi Akin (meidän musiikinopettaja) balladi 2. vuosikurssilaisten poikien kanssa ja puhe, jonka Ellu piti. Sen aikana oli itku lähellä, mut onnistuin pidättelemään - jee!

When I got to Tampere's university, I was getting very nervous and my heart was beating oh so quickly. I, and others from my group, went to the line and I was trying to calm my self down by thinking "now, calm down - everything is going just fine. Just don't fall down on the stairs."

The graduation went much better than I thought. I was able to not to fall down, tho I had high heels, which were higher than my usual ones. I put the hat on my head the moment I had to etc. The performances were nice to watch as well. The most memorable ones were Aki's (our music teacher) ballad with guys from 2nd year and Ellu's speech. During the speech, I was almost going to cry but I was able to held it - yay!

Varsinaisen seremonian jälkeen mentiin käytävälle odottamaan opettajien onnitteluja ja tervehdyksiä. Oli kyl tosi mukavaa, vaikka moni mua eniten opettaneista opettajista ei paikalla ollutkaan. mm. kaikki historian opettajat olivat poissa kuten myös filosofian opettaja ja pitkän matikan opettajat! Ainakin osa.

Mä onnistuin pitämään hymyn ja iloisen mielen kokoajan, vaikka edellisenä päivänä pelkäsinkin et kyyneleet pääsee pakoon silmistä. Norssi oli meinaan tosi yhtenäinen lukio ja voin valehtelematta sanoa, että vietin tähänastisesti parhaat kouluvuoteni täällä.

After the ceremony, we went to the hallway to wait for our teacher's congratulations and greetings. It was nice, tho most of the teachers, which taught me the most, weren't there. For example none of my history teacher were there, same goes with philosophy and (lond / advanced )  maths teachers! At least some of them weren't there.

I was able to keep my smile the whole time, tho the day before I had been afraid I wouldn't. I mean, our high school was quite united and I can say, without a word of lie, that I spend the best years of my "school life" here. At least for this moment.

Onnitelujen jälkeen sain muutamia ruusuja, onniteltiin kavereita ja juteltiin. Näin mun yhteiskuntaopin opettajan ja vaihdettiin muutama sana. Ennen lähtöä näin myös mun äidinkielen opettajaa ja vaihdoin muutaman sanan ruotsin opettajan kanssa. Mulle sanottiin, et oon tervetullut tervehtimään opettajia Norssiin.
En siis ollut varmaan kovinkaan kauhea oppilas? : D

After the congratulations I got few roses, I went to talk with my friends and congratulated them as well. I saw my social studies teacher (she hadn't been congratulating us earlier) and we talked for a short while. Before leaving I also spotted my Finnish teacher and talked a little while with my Swedish teacher. I had been told, that I was welcomed to come to see them (= teachers) at Norssi. I guess this shows that I wasn't very bad student. : D

Aika pian me (mä + perhe )lähdettiin kotia kohti. Siellä olikin jo jonkin verran porukkaa ehtinyt tulla. Siinä sit moikkailtiin ja siirryttiin olohuoneen puolelle juttelemaan, kunnes ruoka oli valmista. Hitaana kuvaajana (ja muistamattomana) en ehtinyt ottaa ruuista kuvia ennen leikkaamista, mutta... eiköhän näillä pärjätä!

After that we (I + my family) left to home. Some guests had already came there, when we came back. I greeted them and then we went to living room to talk and wait for the food. As a very slow (and forgetful) photographer, I didn't get to take pictures of the foods before they were cut. I guess (and hope) we can go with these ones.

Meillä oli tarjolla jos jonkinmoisto herkkua. Erilaisia makeita kakkuja, keksejä (kaupasta ostettuja ja tädin tekemiä ylioppilaita), karkkeja jne. kun taas suolaisesta syötävästä piti huolen karjalanpiirakat ja erilaiset voileipäkakut. Juomapuoli oli puolestaan kahvi ja tee, kylminä vaihtoehtoina taas oli mm. marjavesiä, jossa vesi oli hiilihapotettu sodastreamillä. Meillä ei ollut mitään super suuria juhlia ollut, joten kotivoimin (ja naapurin avustuksella) pärjättiin, ilman monen viikon hurjaa uurastelua. Tässä oli se hyvä puoli, et kun kaikki mahtu meidän olohuoneeseen, ei tullu mitään porukoita vaan kaikki jutteli keskekään jne.

We had a lots of food to serve. We had different kinds of sweet cakes, cookies (some made by my aunt, some bought from store), candies etc. The salty servings were Karelian pies and different sandwich cakes (layer cakes). Then we had coffee and tea. For those who wanted some cold drinks, we had berry waters, which were slightly carbonated. We didn't have extremely large party, so we could handle all the preparations and servings by ourselves (with the little help our our neighbor), without many weeks hard work. One good side of the whole thing was, that all had room in our living room and so everyone talked with everyone - no groups.

Meillä ei ollut mitään tarkkaa aikaa, jolloin ihmisten piti tulla. Oltiin pistetty et kello x eteenpäin, joten ihmiset tuli vähän miten omaan aikatauluun sopi. Juhlat sit meni silleen et ensin onnittelut ➡ alkumaljat ➡ olohuoneen puolelle ➡ hakemaan syötävää ➡ takaisin olohuoneeseen syömään ja juttelemaan. Sit kun tuli lisää vieraita niin sama rumba. Mut oli kyl mukavat juhlat, pakko myöntää. Sit illasta mun oli vielä tarkoituksena tsekata kaupungin meno, samaan tapaan kuin edellisenäkin vuonna. Harmittavasti alko kuitenkin satamaan kaatamalla, joten vaatteet vaihtuivat astetta mukavampiin ja ei muuta kuin kahvia kitaan.

We didn't have any exact time, where our guests were supposed to come. We had told / wrote that x is the time when you can start coming. So everyone came, when they could. So the party went pretty much like greetings ➡ a welcome drink ➡ to the living room ➡ grab some food ➡ back to the living room to eat and talk with others. When new guests came, the same chain. It was very nice party, I really need to say. At first I was supposed to go to the city and check, how people are partying there, just like last year. Sadly it started rain so hard so I just change my clothes to more comfier ones and drank more coffee.

Mä en kamalasti puhunut vielä lahjoista, koska tbh en oo vieläkään ehtinyt kuvailla niitä. ^^; Mut suurimmaks osaks sain seteleitä, koska sitä eritoten pyysin. Näitä rahoja oon sitten kesän aikana käytellyt mm. Animeconiin menoon ja nyt tulevan BORN x Lycaon keikallemenon kustannan kans itse. Muita lahjoja oli mm. tuossa ylemmässä kuvassa oleva kaulakoru, pyyhesetti ja muki + murokuppi. Ehkäpä nekin pääsee jossain vaiheessa sit kuviin!

I didn't talk about the presents I got yet, because tbh I haven't taken pictures of them. ^^; Oh well, I mostly got money, which I had asked. I have used those moneys during Summer, for example when I went to Animecon. I'll also go to BORN x Lyxaon's gig and I buy the whole trip by myself. Other presents I got were for example necklace (which you can see in the picture above), set of towels, a mug and a cereal bowl (mug + bowl were a set as well.) Maybe I sometime take a picture of them as well!

Me (minä ja isä) otettiin nää ylioppilaslakkikuvat vasta seuraavana päivänä, koska oikea päivä oli niin hulinaa täynnä ja sää vähän epävakainen. Ei sit muuta ku yritys uusista kiharoista seuraavana aamuna ja mekko päälle. Niin ja samanlaiset meikit kans naamaan. Me kuvailtiin vähän kaikkialla ja osaan paikkaan lähdettiin ihan auton kanssa. Siispä sain ottaa muutaman levyn mukaan, jota kuuneltiin autossa.

We (my father and I) took these "Graduated pictures" the next day, since the real day was so busy and the weather wasn't too good. So the next morning was like, let's try these curls again and then, wear the dress once again. Oh yeah, and also I tried to do same kind of make up. We took picture in many places, some were that far that we left there with our car. 

Eiköhän siinä ollut se tärkein? Oli kyl aika päivä tämä, enkä vieläkään tuppaa uskoa että lukio on ohi. Meni kyl niin hujauksessa! Tässä vaiheessa pyydän anteeksi muutaman kuvan laatua. D: Mun kameran asetukset oli vaihtunut + koneelle laitettaessa ne vaan paheni. ; ; 

I guess that's all for now? It was quite a day, and it's still so hard to believe that my high school is really over. It went so quickly! I want to apologize the quality of some pictures. D: My camera had changed the settings and the quality was even worse, when I got the pictures to my computer. ; ;
